About Mega Millions
Mega Millions is played across 45 states, Washington D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. As of April 2025 the game was redesigned: tickets now cost $5 (was $2), the Mega Ball pool was reduced from 25 to 24 numbers (improving jackpot odds to 1 in 290.5M), the minimum jackpot rose to $50M (was $20M), and every ticket now includes a built-in random 2× to 10× multiplier — the separate Megaplier add-on has been retired. Record jackpot remains $1.537B from October 2018.
Lotto Laboratory's generator pulls its seed from the Australian National University's Quantum Random Number Generator. The result is a combination as unpredictable as the universe allows — same odds as a Quick Pick, no birthday clustering, no shared-jackpot risk.
